My Little Underground: Concept / DJ

For the annual Museumnight in Amsterdam, FNNNN was asked by Foam to participate in the event the organized that night. We decided to make a soundscape for the exhibition 'Paradis' by Charlotte Dumas. Dumas makes serene, intimate portraits of animals. For the first time, Dumas presented a selection from the various series of animal portraits she has made in recent years. The exhibition lead the audience to construct a subconscious relationship between the portraits of horses, wolves, tigers and other animals, highlighting the connection between the different subjects. We as FNNNN thought it might be interesting by adding another layer to that subconscious pattern, which could greatly influence the way the portraits were perceived. So adding layers of rain, white noise, howling wolves and even slaughterhouse sounds to the room, we created different moods. After a two hour session of abstract sounds we put on our dancing shoes and started a dancefloor.
